Returning to Ease: The Soft Power of Acceptance

It’s been a while since my last Loveletter.
Life invited me into a deep pause this spring, a time of healing that included eye surgery, and I needed to step away from writing for a while. I’m slowly returning now, and this is what’s been living in me lately:
What if everything is perfect as it is?
Just considering this possibility can feel scary. We fear that everything will stay the same. When we look inside and around us, there are so many things we do not like, do not want, or wish were different.
If I accept things as they are, then nothing will change, right?
That is one of life’s biggest paradoxes. When we cannot accept, we resist. And in resistance, it becomes much harder to do or change anything.
But when we can accept things as they are, even gently, we begin to release. We come into more ease. And in that frequency, we slowly become more able to make the changes we truly need.

When we live with ease, we feel more grounded, inspired, trusting, soothed, and filled with joy. It is a state of being that is powerful in its softness. From this place, we become unstoppable.
In acceptance, we acknowledge and admit our truth. We may not like that truth, but truth always heals, no matter how painful it feels in the moment we own it.
Accepting things as they are often means being willing to feel the discomfort we usually run away from.
We do not want to feel the pain in our bodies, and we look outside for the solution that had always been hiding within our hearts.
Soul freedom is the choice to live within our truth and own it. It is at times painful, and most of the time beautiful as well, because it is the only reality that is truly fulfilling.
As I write to you again, I invite you to pause and ask yourself:
What have you been resisting that might soften through acceptance?
What truth have you been afraid to admit, that might actually set you free?
May your life meet you with ease, truth, the quiet courage to accept what is, and the beauty of your own becoming.
warmly,
maria
