About The Event

Introduction:

Women have traits that are multifaceted, strong, vulnerable, and colorful, just like the rainbow of qualities we can find in the archetypes of the Greek Goddesses. Join this all-women workshop to explore together and celebrate the spectrum of our female identity.

The archetypes, just as the inner archetypes of the Greek goddesses, are powerful inner patterns, forces within that influence what we do and how we feel and can reveal intimate truths about ourselves. When we are able to understand them, we gain powerful insights that provide the key to self-knowledge and wholeness.

What we do:

In this Embodied Feminine Workshop, the second of its series, we start by reading and reflecting upon the myth of Artemis. Artemis is the goddess of young natural life and birth. She is the sister, and “the archer with unerring aim”. She is responsible for the feeling of merged union that a woman can have with nature. She cares about all her “sisters” and helps young women chosen as victims. As an archetype Artemis is “a personification of an independent feminine spirit” and “enables a woman to seek her own goals on terrain of her own choosing”. In our circle, we invite her independent, self-sufficient and connected-to-nature qualities to strengthen our assertiveness and honor sisterhood.

We work in group, following guided embodied explorations that will help you turn your focus towards your goals and what matters in your life. From this state of assertiveness, we move on to using playfully a variety of art materials, including drawing, creating with clay and collage. Through this personal exploration, each participant deepens their connection to the qualities of Artemis. Lastly, we use Authentic Movement, creating a safe, non-judgemental space where you are free to move and listen to your body’s wisdom. This way you open yourself to receiving insights that can encourage you to connect with intensity, will and spirit of competition in every important cause, without being distracted from the direction you have chosen.

Please bring: Comfortable clothes that you can easily move. Your open presence and beginner’s mind as this workshop is mainly experiential. Movement explorations are adaptable to all physical abilities and conditions. Quality art materials will be provided. Participants are welcome to buy the book of Jean Shinoda Bolen “Goddesses in Every Woman”, but it is not required for the workshop.

Structure:   Group is intimate with a maximum of 16 participants.

Quality Art Materials and healthy snacks are provided.

Note:

This workshop is the second one of the series Authentic Movement Workshops for Women: A Female Rainbow

Each workshop is independent. However, participating in the whole series will help you better understand which goddess is more active within, which you may need to cultivate, which to overcome, and how to tap the power of these enduring archetypes to become a better “heroine” in your own life story.

If you would like to have a more immersed experience check out also The Female Rainbow Retreat in Greece: Embody Your Femininity, on July 03 - 10, 2022.

Responsibility statement:  While we will be using practices for self-exploration this workshop is not a psychotherapy group or a replacement for working directly with a healthcare practitioner. A liability form will be signed at the day of the event.
