Embodied Feminine Workshop: The Aphrodite Archetype

Introduction:

Women have traits that are multifaceted, strong, vulnerable, and colorful, just like the rainbow of qualities we can find in the archetypes of the Greek Goddesses. Join this all-women workshop to explore together and celebrate the spectrum of our female identity.    

The archetypes, just as the inner archetypes of the Greek goddesses, are powerful inner patterns, forces within that influence what we do and how we feel and can reveal intimate truths about ourselves. When we are able to understand them, we gain powerful insights that provide the key to self-knowledge and wholeness.

What we do: 

In this Female Rainbow Workshop, the last one of its series, we start by reading and reflecting upon the myth of Aphrodite. Aphrodite is the Goddess of Love and Beauty, Creative Woman and Lover. As the alchemical goddess provides a unique power of transformation and is a tremendous force for change. The Aphrodite archetype governs women's enjoyment of love, beauty, sexuality and sensuality and impels women to fulfill both creative and procreative functions. In our circle we invite her creative and transformational qualities to enhance your ability to perceive with all your senses and awaken your sensuality.

We work in dyads, following guided embodied explorations with respectful touch that will help you enjoy the sensory experiences of your body. From this state of openness, we move on to using playfully a variety of art materials, including drawing, creating with clay and collage. Through this personal exploration, each participant deepens their connection to the qualities of Aphrodite. Lastly, we use Authentic Movement, creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you are free to move and listen to your body’s wisdom. This way you open yourself to receiving insights that can encourage you to live your life savoring small pleasures that ignite your sensuality and inspire your creativity.

Please bring: Comfortable clothes that you can easily move. Your open presence and beginner’s mind as this workshop is mainly experiential. Movement explorations are adaptable to all physical abilities and conditions. Quality art materials will be provided. Participants are welcome to buy the book of Jean Shinoda Bolen “Goddesses in Every Woman”, but it is not required for the workshop.      

 

Structure:   Group is intimate with a maximum of 16 participants. 

Quality Art Materials and healthy snacks are provided.  

Investment: 

Tier I- Students, single mothers and others with income less than $50K -  $55   - 2 spots available

Tier II - Mothers and others with income less than $100K - $88 - 3 spots available

Tier III - Women with income over $100K -  $110 - 3 spots available

However, participating in the whole series will help you better understand which goddess is more active within, which you may need to cultivate, which to overcome, and how to tap the power of these enduring archetypes to become a better “heroine” in your own life story.
