About The Event
This workshop is the second one of the series Authentic Movement Workshops for Women: A Female Rainbow.

In this workshop we use Greek myths, Authentic Movement explorations and Expressive Art activities to invoke in our embodied presence, the qualities of Artemis in order to strengthen our assertiveness and honor sisterhood.
Artemis is the goddess of young natural life and birth. She is the sister, and “the archer with unerring aim”. She has an athletic, slender and youthful figure and she is the inspiration for the circle dances in the mountains.
As an archetype Artemis is “a personification of an independent feminine spirit” and “enables a woman to seek her own goals on terrain of her own choosing”. She provides the innate ability in a woman to connect with intensity, will and spirit of competition in every important cause, without being distracted from the direction she has chosen. She is responsible for the feeling of merged union that a woman can have with nature. She cares about all her “sisters” and helps young women chosen as victims.
With guided and self-directed explorations, we will have the opportunity to delve into the independent, self-sufficient and connected-to-nature qualities of this archetype to :
- feel the strength of your own will
- heal and honor our sense of belonging in sisterhood
At the end of the workshop additional explorations will be provided to invoke these qualities in your everyday life to:
- overcome the challenge to be true to yourself and your values in a 'man's world'
